Smart Blood Pressure Monitor

The at home, on routine, or on the go, health monitoring system. Vital is a portable device that fits into your pocket, on a key-chain, or necklace, providing the ability to do an immediate test whenever need be.
Vital comes with a routine blood pressure armband. Allowing you to do more accurate tests, with less variables. Sit down, put on the band, and pull the strap to tighten. Vital will help make sure the armband is placed correctly, and sufficient pressure is applied.

Goal 1: Increase portability of the device, decreasing the size by circumventing a traditional pump.
Goal 2: Eliminate interface confusion. Remove product buttons and design a clear semantic app.
Goal 3: Decrease the cuff width. Currently, width must be 40% of arm circumference, larger or smaller can skew test results.
Goal 4: Avoid replacing other smart devices. Instead, design for health tracking and risk reduction.

Concepts and Ideation

When Vital conducts a routine test, it can take a standard blood pressure test without any on board pump or pressure sensors. Vital is equipped with a low frequency microphone, which listens to the arteries and gathers the systolic and diastolic blood pressures acoustically. This innovative technology better resembles methods used by physicians and provides higher accuracy then current automated pressure monitors.
Vital is equipped with the 4 main tests any practitioner would do as soon as you walk into an ER. 

Photoplethysmopgrahy is used to obtain Heart Rate and Blood Oxygen Content. Additionally provides the ability to estimate Blood Pressure, which can be used for reference

Thermometer used to calculate average Body Temperature.
Vital can be used in 1 of 3 ways:

Instant readings take about 3 seconds, and will display your heart rate, as well of a green or red indicator whether anything of concern is detected.

Routine tests take about 15 seconds, and will display your blood pressure against your average. In the case of unfavourable results Vital will notifiy your phone.

And finally, if someone wishes to conduct a passive test, and wear Vital all day, they may simply leave the armband on comfortably and continue with daily activities including exercise, showering, and sleeping. Vital can use this information to determine possible systemic issues.

Vital will automatically differentiate between instant, routine, and passive data, comparing it to previous results while expanding the artificial intelligence model.
Vital has a built-in GPS, and if misplaced can be located using the app. Vital constantly transfers all your personal health data to the app where it safely stored.
